We had looked at a few high-priced college coaches and we elected not to use one, realizing, however, that she would need help with the essays. Claire made it clear that she was most comfortable working with you.
Claire was accepted to a number of excellent schools. The admissions officer at one school (Bates) pulled her Common App. essay out of all he reviewed and asked if he could use it as an example in his classes. And we feel that her Haverford essay “Cheated,” about the honor code, was a significant factor in her admission there.

I got the scholarship at USC! One of my interviewers (it was a panel) was an English professor of Shakespeare. He said he really enjoyed reading my essay about Shakespeare on the AP exam last year. So, of course, thank you for helping me with it.

Mr. Nevin played an essential role in my college application process. After having written two essays for my application (both of which I was able to improve with the help of Mr. Nevin), I was urged by my friends to try writing a third essay that could potentially outdo the first two in reflecting who I was as an individual. I should note that this was about seventy-two hours before my first application was due. Well, Mr. Nevin came through for me by helping me revise yet another essay in record time. Not only did he show me how to better express myself, but he also helped me improve the fluidity of my essay, so that its message was more powerful and meaningful.
